Uptick in sepsis cases may be caused in part by changes in coding, reimbursement
The study found that the acute rise in sepsis in California may be explained at least in part by new CMS guidance regarding ICD-9 coding in 2003 and the introduction of Medical Severity Diagnosis-Related Group (MS-DRG) systems in 2007.

Anticoagulation didn't benefit patients with afib secondary to ACS, pulmonary disease, or sepsis
