Serum potassium repletion for mild abnormalities didn't affect outcomes in heart failure exacerbations
The retrospective study compared mortality, ICU transfers, and length of stay among patients with normal serum potassium levels at admission for heart failure by whether they had average levels of less than 4.0 mEq/L, 4.0 to 4.5 mEq/L, or greater than 4.5 mEq/L during hospitalization.

Studies look at outcomes with drug use and heart failure, infective endocarditis
Almost 10% of patients with acute heart failure tested positive for drug use, a French study found, while an analysis of U.S. patients who injected drugs and underwent surgery for infective endocarditis found that 79% had relapsed and 68% had died by five years.

During influenza seasons from 2010 to 2014, a 5% monthly increase in influenza activity was associated with a 24% increase in heart failure hospitalizations within the same month.
