Two common assessment methods highlight link between frailty and postoperative delirium
An analysis of elective surgery patients ages 70 years or older found that those assessed as frail by the frailty index or frailty phenotype had double the risk of postoperative delirium versus those who weren't frail.

Score predicts PCI complications for patients with chronic total occlusion
Researchers identified 3 factors that were independent predictors of complication: age older than 65 years, lesion length of 23 mm or longer, and use of the retrograde approach.

Aortic stenosis increases postoperative risks

Perioperative aspirin may improve outcomes after noncardiac surgery in patients with prior PCI
Patients taking aspirin had a significantly lower risk of myocardial infarction, leading editorialists to conclude that benefits would exceed risks for those with a prior percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) except in procedures with very high bleeding risk.
