Better outcomes from treatment of sickle cell crisis at infusion centers vs. EDs
Adults with sickle cell disease who received treatment for uncomplicated vaso-occlusive crises in an infusion center received pain medication twice as fast and had four times greater odds of being discharged home compared to those treated in an ED.
