Study highlights unnecessary transfers of patients with traumatic brain injury

Nearly half of patients with traumatic brain injuries managed at level I and II trauma centers were transferred from lower-level hospitals, and 37% of transferred patients were discharged from the trauma center within two days without undergoing any neurosurgical interventions.
