DOACs more effective, cost-effective than LMWH for cancer-associated thrombosis

Repeated Holter monitoring after stroke identified afib
After acute ischemic stroke, the patients were randomized to 10 days of Holter EKG monitoring at baseline, 3 months, and 6 months or standard care, including at least 24 hours of rhythm monitoring.

Ambulatory ECG monitoring may be underused after stroke
Only 30.6% of studied patients received Holter monitoring for at least 24 hours within 30 days after stroke or transient ischemic attack, and fewer than 1% received electrocardiographic monitoring beyond 48 hours, the study found.
