Risk for DVT, PE, bleeding after COVID-19, but low long-term VTE recurrence risk
One study found increased risk for deep venous thrombosis (DVT) for up to three months after COVID-19, pulmonary embolism (PE) for up to six months, and bleeding for up to two months, while another showed low rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) recurrence in the year after infection.

Benefits of dedicated COVID-19 hospitals, ECMO; air sampling after aerosol-generating procedures
A health system reported outcomes at two hospitals created to treat only COVID-19. Another found that 42.9% of COVID-19 patients who got ECMO died, compared to 89.1% when it wasn't available. A sampling study compared viral particles in the air with different procedures.

Midline catheters may be safer than PICCs for short-term use
A retrospective cohort study found use of a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) for difficult vascular access or for IV antibiotic therapy for 30 days or less was associated with higher risk for a bloodstream infection or occlusion than a midline catheter.
