A survey study of 336 internal medicine hospitalists at 18 academic institutions in the U.S. found that women were more likely than men to report experiencing sexual harassment by patients, and nearly all women reported being mistaken by patients for nonphysician clinicians over their careers.

Proprietary sepsis prediction model not accurate in external validation study
The Epic Sepsis Model had low sensitivity and did a poor job identifying sepsis in hospitalized patients, researchers found. It also potentially increased alert fatigue, by generating alerts in 18% of hospitalized patients.

Trainees appear to evaluate general internal medicine faculty performance differently by gender
