Early oral step-down therapy did not increase 30-day mortality rates for Enterobacteriaceae bacteremia
Compared to continuing parenteral therapy for Enterobacteriaceae bacteremia, stepping down to oral therapy within five days of treatment initiation was associated with similar clinical outcomes and earlier discharge in a retrospective multicenter cohort study.
