Do-not-attempt-resuscitation order rates compared for heart failure, other hospital conditions
A retrospective study in California found low overall rates of do-not-attempt-resuscitation orders in patients hospitalized for heart failure, pneumonia, acute myocardial infarction, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, with some variation by race.

Two questions most effective for initial delirium screening
Asking patients to recite the months of the year backwards was the most effective single-question screen for delirium in older medical inpatients, and pairing that question with “What is the day of the week?” resulted in the best 2-item test, a recent study found.

New antipsychotic prescriptions in hospitalized heart failure patients often continued after discharge to SNF
A retrospective cohort study of mostly male veterans found that 10.8% received a new antipsychotic prescription during index hospitalization for heart failure, 21.5% of which were continued after discharge to a skilled nursing facility (SNF).
