New score predicts likelihood of good outcome after in-hospital CPR

Long-term survival from in-hospital cardiac arrest lower in black patients
The difference in outcomes between black and white patients was only partly eliminated by adjustment for patient and hospital treatment factors, leading study authors to speculate that postacute care contributed to the disparity.

The guidelines from the National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care focus on two main concepts: that palliative care is inclusive of all people with serious illness and that timely consideration of palliative care is the responsibility of all who care for the seriously ill.
