Disparities seen in postdischarge care for Medicaid beneficiaries
A study in Alabama found that 58% of Medicaid beneficiaries with diabetes and heart failure did not receive guideline-recommended care after hospitalization. Risk of inadequate follow-up was particularly high among patients who were Black or Hispanic.

COVID-19 studies offer risk scores, experts issue guidance on vaccine prioritization
One study found that albumin was key to identifying COVID-19 patients safe to discharge, while another suggested CT findings could be helpful in diagnosis and triage. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and ACP considered who should be vaccinated first, and the CDC revised quarantine advice.
